Normally I don't get too worked up about the Pac 10. I don't think that conference has kept pace with the depth of the SEC and Big 12. However, this was a good game and a great win for the Oregon State. The Beavers won on a last second field goal that was sweet redemption for PK Justin Kahut who had missed a game-typing extra point only moments before.
With the victory, the Pac 10 championship is still to be determined. If Oregon State beats instate rival Oregon this week, they would go to the Rose Bowl having the head-to-head tiebreaker over USC. And though that would mean the Beavers would get to play Penn State for the second time this year, it would be nice to see the Trojans denied a Rose Bowl bid.
